School Days, School Days…

Ah the first day of school and I don’t know who was more excited Shawn or me. Lets just put it this way..it has been a long summer. Anyway here are a couple of photos I took right before he went to his first day of school.

Shawn has occupied himself for part of the summer by reading as much Harry Potter as he could get his hands on. He read the first book about 5 times before we finally got him the second book in the series. Once we gave him the second book he was so excited that he finished it in a matter of days, like 4! He is a really good reader and I love that he loves to read. Myself on the other hand never really liked to read. I’m working on it though, ahem audiobooks.

I hope everyones first day of school was great!

We watched this movie last night and I just wanted to make everyone aware of it. It is a touching movie that was a good reminder to me about how fragile life really is, and how precious our time with our children is. Memories and capturing moments now are so important.
ps. Make sure you have a box of tissues with you if you see this movie.

it was so great to make photographs of the Kunz family again. It has been about 6 months since our last photo session and not only has their little girl changed but they have a baby boy now as well. Windy day

This was a great photo session as we were able to use 3 locations very close by to make this photographs. Even though it was quite windy she was a real trooper and looks amazing!

Birthday boy and his family

We had such an amazing time doing this session. It was the first time we have done a 1yr old with their first birthday cake. At first Zachary got messy, and then his Mom helped a little, and Zachary got even messier. It was fun and we made lots of amazing photos. The photos that I like the most, just because of the story behind them, are the ones of Zachary wearing his Dad’s military cap and dog tags. I can’t help but find myself a little emotional at the thought of all those who serve our country and leave their little ones behind while they do. Powerful!
